Katito Farm: Making payslips easier to access
Katito Farm has been trying Harvester’s Employee Self-Service (ESS) payslip access. After speaking with HR, Philippa shared the team’s early impressions of how online access could help employees and simplify payslip distribution.
In Katito Farm’s words
“Katito Farm previously sent payslips by email, with printed copies available on request. While this worked, many employees in rural Zambia don’t have active email accounts or regular access to smartphones and computers.
“The new Harvester online payslip system appears more practical and user-friendly. Employees register once with an email address, then access their payslips online from any suitable internet-enabled device.
“From our perspective, this has the potential to improve payslip access, reduce paper use and streamline distribution, especially in rural farming communities.”
A practical option alongside existing payslip delivery
The existing approach
Katito Farm emailed payslips and provided printed copies on request. Access to active email accounts and suitable devices could make that process less convenient for some employees.
What the team is exploring
ESS offers employees a way to view their own payslips online once access is set up. Katito sees potential for easier access, less paper and simpler distribution.
These are Katito Farm’s early impressions. Internet access and a suitable device are still needed; printed payslips remain useful for employees who cannot access the online service.
