Product improvements, training notices and important Zambia payroll information for Harvester customers and employers

Important information note

Kazang bulk salary payments now support mobile wallets and bank accounts

Harvester Payroll can now prepare Kazang bulk salary-payment exports using either employee mobile-wallet details or supported bank-account details.

  • Prepare mobile-money payments for supported Zambian mobile networks.
  • Prepare supported bank-account payments in the same payroll workflow.
  • Use different payment methods for different employees.
  • Reduce manual salary-payment preparation.

Existing customers can update the employee payment details in Harvester and then prepare the Kazang export.

  • Review missing employee identifiers before submission.

PDF payslips and modern e-payslips

Harvester Payroll PDF payslips and electronic payslips
  • Generate PDF payslips for individual employees or employee groups.
  • Email supported e-payslips from the payroll system.
  • Allow supported employee self-service access to payslips.
  • Use payroll calculations already processed in Harvester.

NHIMA upload prefix option and direct CSV export

Harvester includes a Company Settings option for employer health numbers that should be exported without the letters NHIS.

  • Keep “Does NHIS precede Health No?” selected when the prefix is required.
  • Clear the option when the employer number must be exported as digits only.
  • Export the NHIMA file as CSV and avoid unnecessary re-saving that can alter member numbers.

When an upload is rejected, first compare the employer number and required file format with the current instructions shown in the employer’s NHIMA account.

NHIMA contribution configuration note

The National Health Insurance Act requires employers to pay the employer and employee contribution at the prescribed percentage. The detailed rate and contribution basis are set through the applicable regulations and current NHIMA administration.

Employee ID information report

The Employee ID information report brings key employee identifiers into one place, including supported NAPSA, NHIMA, TPIN, mobile, birth-date and bank fields.

Payroll administrators can use the report to identify missing information and export the results to Excel.

Harvester’s cash-denomination report supports wage-packet preparation using current configured Kwacha denomination values. Employers should check the report before withdrawing or packing cash wages.
